For the first time in its history, the Asia-Pacific Conference on Giftedness (APCG) was held in Singapore from 14 to 18 July 2008. Jointly organised by the Ministry of Education’s Gifted Education Branch and National Institute of Education, the 10th conference brought together prominent scholars and experts, who spoke on key educational issues and provided updates on their latest research. With the theme, ‘Nurturing Talents for the Global Community’, the conference provided a platform for local and overseas educators to explore and exchange views on the medium that education for the highly-able could and should take. They were also able to share good practices, effective strategies and innovative programmes to cater to the varied needs and abilities of gifted students. Over 300 foreign delegates from 34 countries and 1,300 local counterparts attended the conference. Principals Academy provided the project management for the conference and exhibition.
