Dr. Zoe Boon has served in MOE for more than three decades in diverse school settings. Prior to her first appointment as Principal of a primary school from 1998 to 2001, Dr. Boon completed her Diploma in Education Administration and was awarded the Ruth Wong and the Singapore Educational Administration Society Book Prizes. She received her PhD based on her dissertation “The Making of School Principals in Singapore” in 2005 and was then appointed as Principal of a secondary school from 2005 to 2010. As a Senior Lecturer at the National Institute of Education (Nanyang Technological University), she contributed towards the training of pre-service teachers, middle managers and school leaders. In addition to training, she also provides consultancy, and presents at local and international conferences and seminars. She has written several research papers and book chapters related to principalship, coaching, mentoring, learning organisation, and teachers' training. Her book “Singapore School Principals: Leadership Stories” was published in 2018. Dr Zoe Boon was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Commendation Award in 2022. In addition, she is also an ICF-certified professional coach.
