About Mr Fred Tan
Fred Tan has built an impressive career, leveraging his extensive experience in Planning & Operations, Leadership & Organizational Development (L&OD), and Human Capital Management to help organizations cultivate exceptional leaders. His passion for empowering individuals to reach their full potential began during his tenure in the military, where he took on the Human Resources function and led operational deployments in East Timor, Banda Aceh, and the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Fred's academic pursuits and practical experience have laid a solid foundation for his leadership capabilities leading to his appointment as the Head of Centre for Leadership Development (CLD) for SAF from 2011 to 2018. During this time, he was responsible for creating and implementing an award-winning leadership development system for military leaders.
As a Leadership & Organizational Development Consultant, Fred regularly facilitates L&OD programs focused on leading self, leading teams, and leading organizations in both the public and private sectors. Fred's qualifications include 12 years of experience facilitating L&OD programs, various specialist certifications, and degrees in Engineering Management, HR Development & Management, and Human Capital Leadership. Some notable certifications include Certified Transformative Coach, Certified TetraMap Facilitator, and Certified Trainer in Systems Thinking, Mapping, and Leadership. Additionally, he is an Associate Trainer at the Civil Service College and Singapore Institute of Management's Centre for Systems Leadership (CSL). He is also an SAF Executive Coach (EC) and a Brigade Commander Coach. About Mr Ang Yau Choon
Ang Yau Choon is an accomplished leader and trainer with a remarkable history of overcoming challenges and pushing boundaries. As a testament to his resilience and tenacity, Yau Choon summited Mount Everest in 2007 and participated in the First Singapore Antarctica Expedition in 1999. Throughout his career, he has commanded Special Forces unit, training institutes, an overseas training base, and an army brigade, holding a key appointment in the Army Operation Department. During his command of the Special Forces, Specialist & Warrant Officer Institute, and Commando Training Institute, Yau Choon implemented transformative instructional designs and spearheaded the development of world-class training facilities. His steward leadership has been instrumental in establishing best-in-class operational and training institutions.
Yau Choon is deeply committed to developing and grooming the next generation of leaders, employing a combination of learning sciences, coaching, and a holistic approach to maximize learning effectiveness. As a qualified US Navy SEAL, Distinguished Graduate of the US Marine Corps Command & Staff Course, and a specialist in Special Operations and Counter Terrorism, Yau Choon has collaborated with military professionals worldwide. His experiences as a Defence Attaché to Bangkok have given him unique insights into working in multi-national, multi-cultural, and multi-agency environments.
